It is awkward and incorrect to describe programs and applications as “softwares” or “a software.” I cringed every time it was used. But, the content of the article is good. I already use many of the programs mentioned and now I’m installing a few new ones!

Or get a cracked copy of it.
Must think of something else ;)

Excellent list.
Prefer the MS Enterprise version of Desktop Search over Google or Yahoo desktop search tools — output’s more compact, it indexes all your Outlook, Outlook Express mail, can also index network shares. Also, advanced sysntax is easier than Google’s. Like Chris wrote above, if you’re already a Windows user, it’s free. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/winfamily/desktopsearch/default.mspx

You didn’t mention Daemon Tools which is very similar to MagicDisc.
Also, a great program to find files in your HD is (that’s the name of the program – Everything…)
It is a lightweight search engine that query your HD directly and can map an entire file system in 15 sec (!!!)
When you search, the results appears instantly as you type your file name in the program.
I found it most useful.

Check out Revo Uninstaller as well. Removes all traces of a previously installed application.
Also Anti-Twin is great for removing duplicate files from any drives.
Microsoft ICE is a brilliant photo joiner. Possibly the best bit of software to come from MS and its completely free. You can knit lots of photos together which is perfect if you want to have a huge panoramic picture, simpy take a dozen or so side-by-side photos of the horizon or whatever and this will knit them all together into one super wide picture.
DVD Flick is worth a mention for creating DVDs that are playable in your standard DVD player.
EditPadLite is another alternative to notebook that i use.
