Razer Viper Ultimate vs Basilisk Ultimate: Differences and Similarities
DPI
Razer’s Viper Ultimate and Basilisk Ultimate are absolute beasts that offer up to 20,000 DPI along with 650 IPS which is way more than a standard mouse has to offer.
Having PTFE feet, these mice are quite smooth and precise as well.
These wireless gaming mice from Razer are equipped with the most advanced technology and there’s no questioning the performance of these mice.
Optical Sensor
Razer Viper Ultimate is equipped with Razer Focus+ optical sensor which provides excellent gameplay with some fine movements and there’s nothing holding you back.
Many critics say that playing with Viper Ultimate feels just like playing with a wired mouse and one can’t tell the difference.
Razer Basilisk Ultimate also features the same Razer Focus+ optical sensor. This Focus+ optical sensor is the newest optical sensor in Razer’s arsenal and it’s absolutely crushing its competitors.
Price
Razer Viper Ultimate and Basilisk Ultimate are equipped with the latest technology and it’s very obvious that they would be really quite expensive.
Both these mice have nearly the same specs but Razer Basilisk Ultimate is slightly more expensive than Viper Ultimate and there’s a marginal price difference between the two.
However, both these gaming mice are quite expensive and you’ll need to spend a lot of your hard-earned money to be able to get your hands on them.
If you’re going for a budget option then you can go for wired versions of Razer Viper and Razer Basilisk as well.
Furthermore, Razer Viper Ultimate and Razer Basilisk Ultimate are readily available on Amazon.
Design
Razer Viper has a fairly good shape with the standard matt black texture and RBG lit logo at the back end of the mouse.
Viper Ultimate feels great in your hand and the rubber side grips are definitely a good touch.
It features 8 optical buttons which are totally customizable using the Razer Synapse software.
On the other hand, the Razer Basilisk Ultimate seems like a carbon copy of Logitech’s G502 HERO. We’re surprised that Razer is letting go of their classic standard style and adopting something else.
Moving on, Razer Basilisk Ultimate looks quite good and has that high-end gaming mouse look. However, just like G502, Razer Basilisk is better suited for right-handed gamers. Razer Basilisk Ultimate also features up to 11 customizable optical buttons as well.
Weight
The Razer Viper Ultimate is 12.6cm (4.9’’) long, 6.62cm (2.6’’) at the widest and nearly 3.7cm (1.4’’) tall.
Weighing at approximately 74g ( 2.6oz), Razer Viper is considered as the king of light-weight mice. Viper Ultimate is ideal for gaming and it is worth every penny.
Whereas the Razer Basilisk is nearly 13cm (5.1’’) long, 6.6cm (2.3’’) at the widest and almost 4.2cm (1.6’’) tall.
Razer Basilisk Ultimate weighs at 107g (3.7oz) and it is considered mid-range gaming mouse.
Once again, Razer Basilisk Ultimate is designed for right-handed users only and if you’re a left-handed gamer then this mouse isn’t the best option for you.
Connectivity
Razer Viper Ultimate and Razer Basilisk Ultimate are equipped with Razer Hyperspeed wireless technology which makes them the fastest wireless gaming mice to date.
Both of these mice are deadly fast and there are absolutely no connectivity issues with them at all.
On paper, Razer Hyperspeed wireless technology is 2% faster than Logitech’s LIGHTSPEED wireless technology.
Battery Life
Razer Viper Ultimate has an excellent battery timing and it can last for up to 70h straight without RGB lights and somewhere around 50h to 60h with RGB lights at 60% brightness.
Razer Basilisk Ultimate throws everyone out of the park with its enormous battery that could last up to 100h.
Both these mice can be charged using a charging dongle which is found inside the box.
Razer Viper Ultimate Review
Razer Viper Ultimate is a great mouse that is really ahead of its time with some incredible specs.
Viper Ultimate has the looks as well and there are absolutely no doubts in the performance of this epic mouse.
This mouse is really an exceptional one and it is also considered as the best mouse of 2019.
In my humble opinion, Viper Ultimate is the best option right now and if you’re looking for a new companion then there’s nothing better than this one.
I would definitely recommend this to friends.
Razer Basilisk Ultimate Review
‘An Incredible machine’ pretty much sums up the whole review of Razer Basilisk Ultimate.
This mouse can deliver some amazing game-winning headshots because of its flawless optical sensor. 20K DPI is definitely too much but it never hurts to have some extra.
Razer Basilisk is an absolute beast and I wouldn’t think twice before buying this one.
However, the right-handed concept might be an issue for some but other than that, Razer Basilisk Ultimate is one of the best wireless gaming mouse available in the market.
Conclusion
Razer Viper vs Basilisk: And the winner is…
Razer has never disappointed us and this new technology is giving everyone a run for their money.
Logitech LIGHTSPEED claims that they can get up to 1hz response time but it’s actually somewhere around 994 while Razer Hyperspeed can boost things up to 998-999 which makes this new technology the fastest in the market.
Razer Viper Ultimate and Razer Basilisk Ultimate are a treat to have and they both feel amazing in your hand.
However, Razer Viper Ultimate is the winner in our eyes. It’s a little lighter and ideal for every situation. Besides, you will be getting the latest technology for a little less as well so it’s a win-win situation.
If you’re looking for a new mouse then make sure to have these in your bucket list if you can afford it. It’s a luxury and sure isn’t cheap.
On the other hand, if you’re looking for a more budget option then you might want to go for wired versions of Razer Viper and Razer Basilisk.
