Comments on: Urgent WordPress Automatic Upgrade Update

Keith,
It has been a pleasure using this plugin. Thank you for it. I have used it successfully in all my installations except this one. Any pointers as to why this happens will be appreciated.
I recently upgraded WP from 2.3.3 to 2.5 and then migrated from Apache to litespeed based hosting (facilitated by my provider - Steadfast) The site works well, but for some reason I can’t upgrade to 2.5.1
I am using WPAU 1.1 and get the following message after the plugin starts putting the site in maintenance mode:
“Warning: copy(/hsphere/local/home/saplingindia/mahasldc.in/index.php.wpau.bak): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /hsphere/local/home/saplingindia/mahasldc.in/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-automatic-upgrade/wpau_upgrade.class.php on line 321 We could not complete the upgrade please try again later, click here to check the logs.”
Any idea where I am going wrong?

Yes I also having same problem like this (wrong ftp data but I’m very sure I filled up the correct data).
I realized that the problem is only happened at my blog which is installed at root. Others blog I installed at subdomain no problem with it. Only cannot automatically re-activate the plugin issue.

Keith-I tried to update it to 2.5.1 and it is stuck in updating the database. All my plug-ins are gone including the comment features. I have looked all over your site and wordpress support to see what to do. Any suggestions? Anna

I’ve just updated several blogs from 2.3.3 to 2.5.1 using this plugin. All completed in record time. Only issue was not reactivating the plugins. But that’s only takes a few extra clicks on the plugin page (and also gave me the option to update some of those plugins whilst there. I will definitely be adding a recommendation to this Plugin on my Learn-how-2.net Wordpress “Getting Started” Blog.
