Everyone loves goodies and Microsoft seems to have finally realized this. They have been regularly adding new stuff to the Windows 7 ^[1] Personalization Gallery ^[2]. Earlier this month, we had covered the special Christmas Theme – Twinkle Wish ^[3]. Now, Microsoft has released some more themes to get you in the holiday spirit. Do check ^[2] them out. Cat and dog lovers will be pleasantly surprised.

The theme that caught my attention was Summit on the Summit. Summit on the Summit ^[4] (or SOTS) is an expedition to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro organized by the Grammy-nominated musician Kenna.

Starting January 7th, Kenna and friends will climb Mt. Kilimanjaro to raise awareness about the global clean-water crisis. During their climb, they will be posting notes, pictures and tweets on the website summitonthesummit.com ^[5]. Microsoft and HP are the technical sponsors for the event and the climbers will be using Windows 7 ^[1] and Windows Live Messenger for staying connected. A SOTS themed Windows Live add-on pack is also available here ^[6].

Microsoft will obviously benefit from the partnership due to the associated attention. Nevertheless, it is nice to see Microsoft doing their bit to raise awareness about the campaign.
