Finally, Microsoft has released a Facebook application for Windows Mobile devices. The app has been getting some hype built on leaked/ripped versions since a while. I’ve been beta-testing this application (v 0.0.8.0) since last year and have been impressed.
The application has a great user-experience and allows one to keep up with the latest news updates and posts with Facebook. The interface, and the functionality is way better and intuitive than using the Facebook’s mobile site.
The app allows one to send messages to any of the people in your Friends list, take pictures and videos on your phone, then upload them right to Facebook, and manage your profile and post anytime, anywhere.
A neat feature is the ability to call your Facebook friends on phone numbers they’ve specified on their Facebook profiles. Therefore, you can use the Facebook friends list as your secondary phonebook. Several times I have read a friend’s interesting update on Facebook, and using the call feature called him directly to talk or gossip about the same.
Download the latest version (v1.0.0.7; first public release) from Microsoft’s Windows Mobile site here.
