Windows Phone to launch in India on October 12
By on October 7th, 2011

Finally, it’s official! Windows Phone launches in India on October 12, 2011. The invite from the Microsoft India’s PR folks to the launch event of Windows Phone in India is in my inbox and, so well, it is confirmed. Windows Phone India Launch

The media invite, unlike the earlier teasers, clearly mentions that it is for for the Windows Phone launch. While no details about guests or agenda are shared as yet, the invite mentions Bhaskar Pramanik, Chairman, Microsoft India.

While Windows Phone devices have been available in Indian market since early this year, the Marketplace wasn’t available. Most early adopters used hacks like this one to access the Windows Phone Marketplace and buy apps and games, without which a smartphone is essentially a brick.

The ‘most awaited launch’ happens on October 12, 2011 in New Delhi. I’ll bring you live updates from there, and whatever dope I can get.
