Windows Phone 7 App-a-thon for US Students

The developer contests don’t seem to end! Microsoft has now introduced a limited-time offer good only to U.S. residents, 18+, who are full-time or part-time students enrolled in a U.S. college or university at time of participation. All you have to do is build and publish Windows Phone 7 apps to win exciting prizes.

The first 1,000 students to enter will receive an Xbox 360 game – Halo Reach, Fable 3, Dance Central, Kinect Joy Ride or Kinect Sports game for the Xbox 360. The student who publishes and enters the most apps will receive $5,000 or an equivalent prize package. The 3 students who submit the 2nd 3rd and 4th most apps will receive $1,000 each.

To enter the contest, you need to publish your app in Windows Phone Marketplace between April 11, 2011 and June 30, 2011 and then fill up the form to enter the app-a-thon.

The 1,000 students will be shipped their Xbox 360 game within approximately eight weeks following the promotion period to the address associated with their entry. The Bonus Prize recipients will be notified by phone/mail to the phone number/address associated with their entry approximately seven calendar days after the conclusion of the promotion period.
