If you’re developing an app for Windows Phone 7, there couldn’t be a better time! Across the world, there are several competitions for app developers. See where your app fits into, and get into contention for some great prizes.
In the UK, you could enter the app in the student competition or the incentives programme (or both, with the same app!).
For the student competition, once your app is published in Marketplace, email [email protected] with your publisher name, app name and a screen shot of your app and that’s it. You can win a Microsoft LifeCam Show and/or Windows Phone 7 t-shirt in each of the 6 rounds of the competition and one of the 6 winners will win the grand prize of an HTC 7 Trophy.
The incentives programme is looking for original and unique Windows Phone applications for this programme. However, there is a massive line up of rewards to be redeemed including XBOX360 consoles, LG 22” LCD TVs, and Samsung Home Theatre packages. In addition, just by successfully submitting one unique and original Windows Phone application in the Windows Phone Marketplace and earning one point, you will get the chance to enter an awesome weekly prize draw which include Alienware, Acer and Dell laptops!
If you need a free ride to Microsoft Wordwide Partner Conference 2011 at Los Angeles later this year, you could do that with another contest.
You can participate by developing an application, evaluating and scoring applications, or both. For your entry to be valid, your application must meet Microsoft’s requirements for applications and be accepted by Microsoft. The application also must be available for download on Marketplace by June 6, 2011.
Mundane contests, these? How about a Sweepstakes drawing?
Between January 1, 2011 and June 30, 2011, when you develop and submit a Windows Phone 7 app into the Windows Phone Marketplace, you can be eligible for a chance to win a Windows Phone 7. Every valid Windows Phone 7 app you submit will earn you one entry into the Sweepstakes drawing, so the more you develop, the more chances you have to win.
