While I consolidate more information, interviews, and photos from the Windows Phone launch in India today, here’s a look at three Windows Phone devices that were announced today in the presentation by Bhaskar Pramanik, Chairman of Microsoft India in presence of executives from all hardware partners.
HTC Radar is HTC’s first Windows Phone 7.5 device to be launched in India. Earlier, HTC had launched Mozart and HD7 in the market before the official launch of Windows Phone in India.
HTC Radar has a sturdy, univody design, and the white color stands out and looks stylish. It features a 3.8-inch display. The regular 1GHz Qualcomm processor is packed with 512MB RAM and comes with 8GB of internal storage. HTC Radar has a front-facing VGA camera too, along with the 5MP camera at the back that can shoot videos at 720p.
HTC Radar would be available in the market from next week, and is priced at INR 23,999.
Samsung Omnia W
Earlier this month, Samsung announced their first Windows Phone in India – Samsung Omnia W.
Omnia W features a powerful 1.4GHz processor with 512 MB RAM and 8GB of internal storage. The 3.7-inch Super AMOLED display of Omnia W is stunning, but the device has a plastic-y feel to it. Omnia W features two camera, a front-facing VGA camera and a 5MP camera at the back capable of shooting 720p videos.
Samsung Omnia W would be available in the market in November at a price of INR 19,990.
Announced a few days ago, Acer Allegro would hit the Indian shores next month, probably at the same time if not before the Europe launch. Finally Acer has joined the stable of Windows Phone devices with Acer Allegro.
Allegro features a 3.6-inch display and has pretty much the average specifications of 1GHz Qualcomm processor, 512MB RAM, 8GB internal storage, and 5MP camera. The device has a nice finish to it, and with international reports stating a cheap price, this could be competing Samsung Omnia W well.
Acer Allegro will be available in Indian market in November. The price of the same hasn’t been officially announced.
