Charlie Kindel, General Manager of the Windows Phone Developer Ecosystem at Microsoft, and a 21 year veteran has announced his departure from Microsoft to try his hand at a new challenge.
Kindel has had a fantastic career at Microsoft and has worked in diverse teams such as Internet Explorer to Windows Media Center. He founded Premier support and also served as Executive Technical Assistant to Bob Muglia in Server and Tools Division. After being the force behind Windows Home Server, he had been currently leading Microsoft’s development effort of the Windows Phone 7 platform.
“Evangelism is a great word to describe what we do. In many ways, if you want to be successful in getting a platform adopted, you need to get people to believe. You need them to have faith that the tools and opportunities are really great and exciting.”
Here’s a video from March this year where Charlie Kindel talks about doing what it takes to make a customer successful.
Kindel was an enthusiastic evangelist and his contribution to the Windows Phone developer ecosystem would be missed. Good luck for your new endeavour, Charlie!
