Minesweeper and Sudoku – Free Xbox LIVE Games for Windows Phone 7 [US Only]
By on August 10th, 2011

Microsoft has made two Xbok LIVE games available for Windows Phone 7 – Minesweeper and Sudoku. The classic games have few new additions and a nice design. Both games are free and ad supported, so their Achievements are only worth 50 GamerScore a piece – 150 less than a standard Xbox Live title. Unfortunately, both titles are US only.

Sudoku

Sudoku is a numbers based logic game and comes with two modes – Classic and Lightning. It includes powerups and Xbox LIVE achievements.

Minesweeper

Minesweeper, the classic puzzle game, comes with two modes – Classic and Speed, each with four levels of difficulty. The goal is to clear random minefields using flags to mark potential mines. You can earn powerups to help you navigate the board and unlock Xbox LIVE achievements.

Powerups are an unusual addition to Minesweeper and Sudoku. Players can only bring a few powerups into the game with them at a time. Using a powerup costs tokens and can have a variety of effects. Leaderboards are based on difficulty, and time.
