Microsoft Research Shooting with Windows Phone Apps using Facial Recognition
By on December 25th, 2011

Looks like Microsoft Research is the one playing Santa this holiday season, at least for the Windows Phone users. After releasing Face Swap a few days back and including a teaser of another facial-recognition app in Face Swap, they’ve delivered another one in quick time – Face Mask!

Face Mask

Face Mask gives you a fun and easy way to play around with your photos. It offers a wide selection of masks that you can apply to your photos. All you need to do is just take a picture or pick from your library, and then add a mask by either a tap or through a shaking gesture. You can also resize, rotate, and position the mask. After masking, you can save the photo or share it directly on Facebook, Twitter, and SkyDrive.

The app supports multiple face detection and includes over 20 masks in the library. You can try giving yourself a pirate or a Santa Claus makeover, or easily share photo of a person hiding behind a mask if you wouldn’t wish to share a regular photo for privacy concerns.
