Windows Phone officially launched in India last month, and was followed by announcements from HTC and Nokia to launch Windows Phone 7.5 devices in India. I interviewed Vikas Arora on the sidelines of the Windows Phone launch event at New Delhi.
Vikas has spent close to 12 years at Microsoft and has over 21 years of experience in the IT Industry. As Group Director – Operator Channel, Microsoft India, he oversees the marketing and sales strategy for Windows Phone in India. In this role, he spearheads partnerships with operators and hardware manufacturers for Windows Phone and with hosters to drive their uptake for Microsoft’s consumer and business cloud services.
We talk about Windows Phone evangelism and partnerships in India, and how Windows Phone would stand up in a market flooded with Android devices at a diverse pricing spectrum.
