We can install Zune software from the MSI file directly. Make sure you have Desktop Experience Feature installed. The usual disclaimer apply ofcourse! No guarantees, and unsupported.
- Download the Zune software setup package. Run the following command to extract the content of package. It’ll ask you for the location to put the extracted files.
- ZuneSetupPkg.exe /x
- Navigate to the folder where you extracted the setup package. In the x64packages (or x86packages), find Zune-x64.msi, and double-click to install.
- Double click on zunewmdu-x64.msi to install it.
Voila! You can now run the Zune software, log on, and also update it manually or via Windows Update.
