If Angry Birds or Kinectimals weren’t enough, Indian superheroes – Chhota Bheem and Shaktimaan – have arrived on the Windows Phone Marketplace. It would be very hard for us Windows Phone users to keep our phones off kids in the family now!

chhota Bheem and the Curse of Damyaan is a must have for all Chhota Bheem fans, and there are millions of that kind in India. With a viewership of over 35 Million people, Chhota Bheem is India’s top animated television series. The success of the app has spilled from television to merchandize et al and the first theatrical movie release – Chhota Bheem and the Curse of Damyaan – this week.

The app includes exclusive images and footage from the movie, one complete song, as well as two exclusive games based on chhota Bheem.

The app has been developed by Green Gold Animation Pvt. Ltd. and is first of a series of new and exclusive Windows Phone apps and games with immersive graphics and engaging experiences. Green Gold Animation Pvt Ltd. is India’s leading animation content producer of original 2D animated content for major kids TV channels such as Cartoon Network, Pogo TV and Disney.

Shaktimaan

And then there is Shaktimaan – the Windows Phone game that allows you to play as Shaktimaan, ‘the greatest cyber yogic hero’. Shaktimaan was one of the most popular and longest-running television series in the late 1990s. Later a series of comic books appeared featuring Shaktimaan and published in many languages.

The game released by Viacom18 Media Pvt Limited comes at a time when Shaktimaan: The Animated Series will be aired on Sonic, a kids entertainment channel by Viacom18.

The game involves fighting against all evils through various levels to kill the evil Tamraj in the final showdown. While there is a huge fan-base of the fictional superhero character, the game disappoints hugely and is a patchy effort with uninteresting story and awkward gameplay.
