Solution:

Two ways how to access your POP/IMAP email:

• You can create an email account on your phone connecting directly to the POP/IMAP email server. (Instructions)
• Setup you Windows Live account to pick-up email from your POP mailbox and deliver it to your Hotmail mailbox. (Instructions)
• If SSL is used there is no way to switch certificate check off but you can add a new root certificate to the device to establish trust. (Discussion)
