USA did a lot of good to the game of soccer in the country (also known as football worldwide) when their men’s team reached the round of 16 and then heartbreakingly lost to Ghana 1-2.

Many of them might have already packed their bags in their mind before an injury minute goal from USA helped them draw level. They eventually went and won the game on penalties.

The France game was looking easy too till the halftime when USA were leading 1-0, however an early second half goal from France drew level and then the match was tense till the US team managed to score 2 goals in a matter of minutes to win the match and secure a position in the Women’s World Cup final after 12 years.

The team now faces Japan in the final of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2011 who defeated Sweden 3-1 too. This will definitely be an interesting match to watch out for.
