The Windows Desktop is the most frequently visited place, and keeping it clean is really very important, since the more icons you add the more cluttered it gets. If you want a example of a really overwhelmed desktop, take a look at the picture below.

As you can see, the number of icons on the desktop is overwhelming making it harder to find the information you require. We prefer to keep our desktop clean and clear with minimal icons with the help of RocketDock to increase our productivity.

If you prefer to keep shortcuts on your desktop, but do not want to have a clumsy desktop, there is a simple solution. Tiny Desk allows you to hide and show your desktop icons with the click of a button, thus keeping your desktop clean even if it has 100s of icons. Tiny Desk is only 2kbs in size and is written in VC++.

Even i also hate icons on Desktop. I use Rocket Dock and sometimes if there are too many icons, i just make a new folder and put all in there. This will be helpful

@Madhur quite similar, I have only recycle bin and a txt file on my desktop which I use for storing info I need off hand.

It’s so much simpler to just rightclick and untick “Arrange Icons By > Show Desktop Icons” than to install a new program which sits on your memory (it may be small, but all adds up).
