On a daily basis you may run multiple numbers of programs and applications and have no knowledge on how much memory is being used or how many instances of the same program is running.

CRP (Control Running Programs) is a solution that will control all running programs within your windows session.  In the section ‘Instance Controlling’, you can specify how many instances of a particular program will run at the same time, preventing memory overflow and instant program spawning from other programs.

How To Programs with CRP?

Control Running Programs in itself does not monitor any running programs and you will need to manually add the programs you want CRP to monitor.

To add a programs use the File menu and select Add a program or use the hotkey “Ctrl + A”. A new window you will popup where you can select the program you want CRP to control along with the number of instances that the program can create of itself.

Once you have added the program you want CRP to monitor close the popup window. You should see all the programs you added in the main menu.

In addition to controlling running programs you can also setup CRP to monitor for applications so that it can be re-launched if it is closed. To do that you will have to add the program using the Instance Launching option.

Summarizing

CRP can definitely become useful if you want to optimize the usage of individual applications and control the number of instances it can be allowed to run.

The re-launch application options can also be useful for softwares that frequently crash on your operating system so that you do not need to restart them over and over again, or for that instance you can use the option to re-launch web servers, database servers or other programs you require to always run on your PC.

And like always CRP is completely free to use so you do not have to pay any money to get this useful features.
