Installing MSN or Windows Live messengers can sometimes be a headache, with users getting errors such as “Another version of the product is already installed”, “Your computer has a newer version of MSN Messenger than the one you are trying to install”, ““Your computer has a newer version of Windows Live Messenger than the one you are trying to install”, “The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable” among others.

In such cases installing a new version of the messengers can be quite a hassle. ZapMessenger is a handy freeware utility that will allow you to virtually uninstall any version of MSN Messengers, including Windows Live Messenger, MSN Messenger and Windows Messenger 5.x.

ZapMessenger

ZapMessenger will initially try to cleanly uninstall the messenger normally, if that fails it will forcibly remove the messengers from the windows installer engine, allowing you to reinstall the messengers without having to go through the error messages.

ZapMessenger does not delete any personal customizations, emoticons or display pictures that you have applied to your account.

Note: We discourage users from using keywords in their names while posting comments, most of them get caught by spam, also it really would be more fruitful in knowing people who comment by their real name, rather than by using a name no one relates to. In future we reserve the right to delete comments from users using a name other than their own.
