Here’s a neat idea: since all the designers, developers and programmers spend most of their time on Twitter anyways, why not turn Twitter into a marketplace for buying and selling freelance services. The idea came to Vois, which is a popular social network for freelancers, and they implemented it in the form of Micro.Vois.com.

This is how it works: if you are a freelancer looking for work, you’ll send out a tweet and include the hashtag #wantwork. Similarly, if you are looking to hire a freelancer, you will include the hashtag #havework in your tweet. To check the listings, you can either search Twitter for these hashtags, or simply head over to Micro.Vois.com to see the updated listings. If you see something you like, just reply to the user to get connected.

If used properly, Micro.Vois can turn into a pretty useful service since they are utilizing an already established platform.

Note: We discourage users from using keywords in their names while posting comments, most of them get caught by spam, also it really would be more fruitful in knowing people who comment by their real name, rather than by using a name no one relates to. In future we reserve the right to delete comments from users using a name other than their own.
