If you have been following me on twitter you may see that I twitter all my posts. Well I do not do it manually and for those who are interested on doing it automatically follow the tutorial in this post and all your posts will automatically show up in twitter.
What Tools Do you Need to Use?
TwitterFeed is a service which allows you to post your blog posts as tweets to twitter over a specified interval of time.
The service is free to use and only requires you to register your blog feeds with them.
How Do I Use TwitterFeed to automatically send Tweets about my Latest Blog Posts?
To do this follow the simple steps given below and you should see your blog posts automatically appearing in twitter.
Create a Twitter Account
If you do not have a twitter account yet go ahead and signup for one first.
Register with TwitterFeed
You need to register with TwitterFeed to be able to setup up automatic tweets, TwitterFeed only supports registrations OpenID logins.
If you do not have a OpenID login you can easily use Yahoo, Blogger, AOL, Technorati and other accounts to generate your OpenID URL.
Once you get your OpenID URL store it safely since you will require it to login to TwitterFeed.
Login into TwitterFeed
You need to use the OpenID URL to login to TwitterFeed, you will be shown a screen to grant access to TwitterFeed to access your OpenID data, agree on that and you should be taken to the main TwitterFeed page.
Setup Your Feeds in TwitterFeed
The last and final step for automatically tweeting your blog posts is to set up the feed in your TwitterFeed account.
Add in you twitter username and password along with the RSS feed you want to tweet about. You can also setup the frequency of updates to be tweeted.
For the text you can choose between title and description, title only and description only. You also have a option to include the link to the blog post. In addition to that you can also prefix certain words before the blog entry. I have prefixed “From Techie Buzz” to every tweet that will be sent out using TwitterFeed.
This is a real good service as it allows me to publicize my blog posts on twitter automatically and since I can set the frequency of updates I can also control the way my followers get the updates.
