Flash is light, yes.
But i’m usualy browsing with disabled Flash and ActiveX (Maxthon browser - my choise) - mush faster and no annoying ads.
It’s not a big deal to turn Flash on - 1 click, but i’m against using Flash where it’s not required - input type=”file” is quite enough.
