Haha the title is not misleading its what i want to blog about, infact it’s called how to lose your Google Page rank and Alexa Ranking effectively.

Well to start with I was a blogger who used to post quite often, quite like I do now, had a PR of 5 within 2 months and a Alexa rank of under 100000, those were the good days for this blog and I was quite happy with it. The best way to make money in those days was Adsense and i was quite content with it.

But then came a time when I was quite busy with work and did not have the time to update the blog not even once in two months, in those two months i lost quite a lot my readers, my rankings and much much more. The revenue generating sources for blogs went up after i stopped blogging actively but that was not my concern then.

My blog PR slipped from 5 to 4 and I always thought that I would still be able to do so much to bring it up. But ignorance was bliss and I just let it go on until a few weeks ago when the latest page rank update happened and my blog slipped to a PR of 3, that was what told me that how I let my blog down and made me think about it.

In meanwhile my Alexa ranking went from ~70000 to ~1200000 so it was me that let it all happen and I did it more so with my knowledge but that was not the nail in the coffin.

The biggest mistake is that I never allowed myself time for my blog, I spent around 14-15 hours on my laptop not even spending 1 hour for my blog even though I did not do anything on the laptop. I just ignored the blog even though I had a passion for writing. All in all I made a foolish mistake to allow my Google page rank and Alexa ranking to go down the drains with all the efforts i could manage.

I love my readers and this blog is my baby and I want it to grow now, I have managed to get my Alexa ranking to under ~3.50000 in a month and am hoping that my PR goes to 6 by the next update, yes I am aiming higher but that’s what this blog deserved in the first place.

My negligience let it slip down in the blogosphere, so it’s my turn to help my baby get back up.

Please leave your comments I would be glad to hear about them. Falling down is not much efforts getting back up is.

Thanks for the info. I googled how to lose your page rank and your site was on the first page. My Alexa ranking have been going up. Now after reading your site I realize when I went from posting once a day to once a week it went up. I have been really busy at work so I slipped. Now I need to get back on the ball. Thanks!

Hello, hope you are doing great.I first started blogging to see if I could one day use my blog to make money.I havent made anything till now, lol…but I found something far more valuable, I met lots of good friends thru blogging. For me, the page rank is not a thing I even think about…which may be a good thing, seeing as my page rank just stays the same, lol, even when everyone else rank rises.Still, it doesnt faze me…I have learnt that the importance of blogging is far deeper than page rank :)
    Thanks so much

    Jesse..

I see that your Alexa has recovered very nicely sitting at 72.5k so you managed to pull yourself back up.

Well done and let it be a lesson to us all ;-)
