Hiya! A new feature that’s exclusively available on Google Talk and Gmail Chat. You can now use Google’s Translate from inside your chat window, thanks to the new bots that’ve been added. So how can you get translation done using Google Talk Chat?

First, add any of these bots to your contacts list:

“[from language]2[to language]@bot.talk.google.com”

example:

ar2en, bg2en, de2en, de2fr, el2en, en2ar, en2de, en2el, en2es, en2fr, en2it, en2ja, en2ko, en2nl, en2ru, en2zh, es2en, fi2en, fr2de, fr2en, hi2en, hr2en, it2en, ja2en, ko2en, nl2en, ru2en, uk2en, ur2en, zh2en.

For example, if I need to translate a few words from English to Spanish, I should add en2es@bot.talk.google.com to my contacts list. The bot instantly appears online, and there you go!

Google Talk Translation Bots

Click on the bot’s name, start typing in. You receive a reply with the translated text. Pretty cool, ain’t it? Will come handy when you want to translate a few blocks of text, or when you’re away from your PC, hooked to Google Talk on your smart phone.

I’m sure many of you will find this translate tool on Google Talk useful. What are your views?
