I'm Feeling Lucky

First of all I am not a Real Media Player fan. They have too many ads and I am not too happy with their player too.

Being a regular windows media player user from the time I have been using computers, I have also expermineted with various other media players but have stuck with Windows Media Player.

Still I was always a bit annoyed that I could not play files made for Real Media without using their player.

The real media format nevertheless is a very compressed codex and you can make files much smaller in size compared to the Windows Media Format (wmv) and the Audio Video Interleave (avi) format.

I did not want to have two players though to play different files and found this small software called Real Alternative to play all real media files in windows media player.

Real Alternative will allow you to play RealMedia files without having to install RealPlayer / RealOne Player. You will require at least one other media player though and even Media Player Classic will work.

The supported files which can be played with Real Alternative are RealAudio (.ra .rpm), RealMedia (.rm .ram .rmvb .rpx .smi .smil), RealText (.rt), ReadPix (.rp).

So if you want to get rid of the Real Player then Real Alternative is what I recommend as it seamlessly integrates with Windows Media Player by adding a supported codec to it which will allow the Media Player to play the above files.

I have been using it for more than 6 months now and have not faced any problems yet, so go ahead and get the alternative now.

Real Alternative works on Windows 98/ME/2000/XP/2003/XP64 with DirectX 7 or higher installed.

Get the Real Alternative now.

Real Alternative, Quick Time Alternative, and Media Player Classic belong on every computer. Get them from http://www.codecs.com or http://www.filehippo.com .

Real Player and Quick Time are unnecessary bloatware.

Hi And Happy Holidays, I don’t know very much about computors. With that said it seems that some of the movies that I have produced on My pc with Pinnacle Studio 12 software has mysteriously changed from a windows media format to a realplayer format. additionally the file extension was changed to COS2. Is this a text file. The movies will not play in either media player. I also noticed that all of the files were changed on three days. Oct 16 -19 th. I Hope that I gave enough info, Thanks Mike
