I have had the same problem. The first time, I corrected it by re-installing WMP. This time, I am running into the same "rollback" problem as everyone else and I can't seem to reinstall WMP--the installer runs through the entire installation process and tells me at the end that it was unsuccessful

I tried and it seems I got rid of WMP11. But then I can't install WMP10?
It says that it's not compatible with my OS. I have ordinary XP and I'm trying to install WMP10 for XP. What can be wrong?

I have used your methos above. However, my computer is in Window Vista, and Window media player 11 and IE7 are not shown in add/remove programes of Control Panal! How can I uninstall them for Vista?

It's always good to see workarounds for Microsoft's invasive product range.

I personally think Windows Media Player 11 if useful for music files but prefer VLC as an allrounder, so off to use the guide and unistall, thanks!

I HAV FOUND A FIX FOR VISTA WMP11 REMOVAL

you have to delete the registry key in local machine....regedit, open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, then got to software. look for Microsoft, look for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer.............. DELETE THE WHOLE REGISTRY KEY FOLDER then reboot, it should ask if you want to reinstall it..... that was my fix
