Writely moving to Google Services
By on September 20th, 2006

Recently Writely had opened up to public sign ups, but i got a little surprise mail from Writely yesterday.

An IMPORTANT notice from the Writely team, [email protected]

Dear username,

In a few days, we will update your Writely account to use your [email protected] Google Account registration settings.

This means you'll need to use your Google Account password when signing in, not your Writely password (if they're different).

If you've forgotten your Google Account password, just go to https://www.google.com/accounts/ForgotPasswd

Thanks!
Google Writely Team

This will add to the already existing services Google provides, like email, chat, calendar, photos, spreadsheets, notebook, orkut and many more to come i suppose.

What's the significance, well it does help a bit having all these services right under one roof as otherwise you may have to check a email at once place, open a word or excel document in another service, edit your photos using some other service and so on.

I like the idea of Writely moving into Google services as that will allow to edit and save my email attachment documents and store it on the web from anywhere rather than having to download and move it all along.
