This is probably the most awe-inspiring image of the Second World War, and definitely the one which has imprinted itself on the public subconscious most strongly. This was taken over Nagasaki, after the second bomb was dropped.
This image has become a strong reminder to the world as to what shouldn’t ever be repeated.
