Sansa MP3 Player and Canon PowerShot
By on May 27th, 2007

Yippee I am so excited that I am posting a off topic conversation here. It has been almost 2 months since I landed in the US and these are the first gadgets I got my hands on. I just got my latest MP3 player no not a iPod its hype not a player and my latest cool digital camera with 7.1 Mega pixels and a 6x Digital Zoom.

Well to tell you more about the gadgets I am using my Canon Powershot and my Motorola V3i Razr to click the pics.

Sansa e200R Mp3 Player

To be quite frank I hate iPod because it is a over hyped and over priced product which just plays music. I love music and just want to listen to it so I want something that plays music.

More about the Sansa Player

  • Cost: 129$ plus taxes
  • Storage Space: 4 GB
  • Stores up to 1000 songs
  • Supports MP3, WMA, AAC and RAX audio formats
  • Images supported: JPEG, BMP, TIFF, GIF, PNG
  • Vides supported: AVI, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, QuickTime MOV and WMV video formats
  • FM tuner with FM recording
  • Voice Recorder with inbuilt mic
  • microSD expansion slot to add in more storage space
  • 20 hours of playback

Well that’s the features and it has everything I need so that I can listen to songs as well view videos and photos. The big plus is the FM player and recorder using which I can record songs while listening to FM.

Do you need a iPod anymore?

Just FYI I bought this cool gadget from besybuy.com

Lets talk about the other cool gadget I got using which I clicked the pics for the player

Canon Powershot A710

A digicam was another one of the things I wanted to click pictures but selecting a camera was not so easy. I finally settled on this cool baby called Canon Powershot and let me tell you it’s a cool baby to have in your pocket with absolute rocking features. Well I got a great deal on this too.

I spent $380 on this and it’s worth every penny. Here is what I got for the price.

  1. The baby itself a Canon Powershot A710
  2. A photo printer from Canon
  3. A 2 GB SD card to store 600 high quality pictures
  4. 6 Kodak rechargable batteries with the charger
  5. A travel pouch

The cost may be a bit high but I got the best camera on the market which is 7.1 MP and a 6X optical zoom which means I can click pictures with resolution of 3072 * 2304 and that’s 3X the times of you regular desktop :-).

More about the features

  • 7.1 Megapixel
  • 6x digital Zoom
  • 2.5 inches LCD screen
  • Image Stabalizer
  • Twenty shooting modes
  • Nine scene autofocus, remember the ad for your dad is not the behind of a horse
  • Movie Mode
  • In built 16 MB memory which sucks so I got a 2GB card.

Printer features

  • Lab-quality prints
  • One touch printing
  • Bluetooth compatible

Have a look at the baby, I clicked this with my Motorola v3i, see the quality of this baby’s pictures after photoshoping in the sansa pictures

Cool! The A710 was what I’m planning to get for myself for my birthday, kekkke :) I checked, and it costs about 1190 Malaysian Ringgits (equivalent to USD 351) but only comes with a 1GB card, a pouch, and a mini tripod, nothing else — no batteries, no printer :(

Cool.. I would definitely recommend canon for anyone wishing to buy a digital camera :)

Sansa does seem to have the goodies, but you would finally end up using 1 or 2 features and finally one feature i.e. listening music (I think thats what you also mentioned :) )

iPod does come at a price but it also has all the goodies built in.. good quality sound and good battery life

    Hi Venu,

Sansa too has a very good sound quality and 20 hours playback now that’s not a bad battery life ;).

Yes listening to music is the reason i brought it, but i can still use the other features too sometimes :-).

About canon well its a absolute beauty.
