Must have firefox extensions – part ii
in my previous post on must have firefox extesions i had written about a few extensions that make life easier for us, in continuance i am going to add in a few more nice extensions.
restart tabbed extension
have you ever installed an extension and have had to restart firefox, but you have quite a few tabs open. well its such a pain to note all those url's down and then restart firefox again to use the new extension.
that's why i like this extension restart with tabs, which allows me to restart firefox with the tabs intact. well i recommend this one, as that's not the only benifit you get as you can use the restart with tabs option anytime you want to.
copy all urls extension
this is another extension i like, it allows me to copy all the links that are currently open in tabs and save it to a file, which i can use later on.
the url's are all copied in a structured form (plain text, html etc). you can also take a list of urls (one per line) and open all at once in multiple tabs too.
dragdropupload extension
tired of browsing through directories while uploading files through forms, well then this is one extension you will like, it allows you drag and drop files into the upload forms.
you can drag multiple files and fill in all the upload boxes too. in gmail you can simply drag and drop the file over the files directly over the "attach a file" link.
well this is one of those which i make good use of
.
user agent switcher
another one of those utility extension's that allows you to change the user agent header of the current page, this is helpful for developers and designers who have test their sites on all major browsers.
this small extensions allows you to do that without even leaving the firefox browser.
tab x
well i like this one as it adds a close button to the tab itself, usually the close button for the tabs is located at the extreme right side of the browser window.
with this extension it makes it a little bit easier to close the tabs.
tamper data
tamper data is another developer centric extesion that allows you to tamper the data that is sent out to the webpages, you can change form parameters, http headers etc with this extension.
overall it also acts as a http tracer, tracing http outgoing and incoming requests and responses.
gmail manager
well one of the many gmail extensions you will find for firefox, but this one i like as its sits in the status bar as a small icon and i can choose more than one gmail accounts to query at a single time.
i can also compose and reply to the messages from that small icon.
blogger web comments
this extension shows you who has been commenting on the site you are currently visiting, it shows you the results from the google blog search.
handy to see what others have to say about the particular site in the blogosphere. this tool is an official google extension for firefox.
well that's not all for now, i will come up with few more things that i have been using in the another post soon, till then you can use these and make your life a bit more easier on the web
.
