yes its true, so very slow. even if your internet connection is fast enough.

It works, in Windows 7 Home Premium (32-bit), using the address exactly specified in the article:
https://www.box.net/dav

Copying is bloody slow – about 27KB/s upload on a much faster connection. This is useless! It means about half an hour for only 26 MB.
For 50GB it will take 23 days!

Got this to work like this:
Type just “net use” in command line first. Then you’ll see a list of locations including how box network location is for your computer. Then map it with the exact location. In my win7 x64 this turned to be:

net use n: \\www.box.net@SSL\dav

Can you reverse this process? That is unmount the network and the network drive?

All,

When I visit box.net – my address bar has the ‘https’ struck-out and highlighted in red (as though not valid).

I decided to try it again with http instead of https and it works fine!
