After following a series of strong protests and much chaos, Mumbai police has finally blocked the I Hate Ambedkarpage on Facebook. The officials are now preparing to find the culprit, who created the B.R. Ambedkar hate group on Facebook, Techie Buzz has learned.
Prior to this, protests from Mumbai Civilians erupted on the streets of Bandra and Khar when Mumbai civilians crowded the roads and nearby police stations demanding police action to show their protest on the I Hate Ambedkarhate page on Facebook.
We were able to find a YouTube video of the recent report from a leading Indian news daily, IBN Live.
When Mumbai Crime branch learned about the B.R Ambedkar Facebook hate page on Tuesday, the cyber crime investigation cell made contact with Facebook authorities in the US. Facebook was unable to take down the fan page immediately, because it needed a court order.
Following the instructions, Mumbai Police obtained an order from Esplanade metropolitan magistrate’s court and emailed a soft copy of the order to Facebook officials. When Facebook officials received the court order, they took down the page immediately.
Himanshu Roy, Joint commissioner of Mumbai Crime branch told Hindustan Times:
Facebook is in the process of identifying the culprit’s IP address from their servers and they are most likely to pass the information to Mumbai Police’s cyber cell division. Once we have obtained the IP address, we would be able to track the location of the place from where the files were uploaded and find the culprit.
