By on August 25th, 2008

The Google blog announced the availability of Google Suggest for the Google home page searches, earlier this feature was a part of Google Labs. Google Suggest is a feature that allows shows you suggestions as you type in your query.

These suggestions can help users in various ways including:

  • Helping you to formulate queries – where for example if you type in how to, you will get a list of the most popular how to queries, you can continue typing to receive more suggestions based on what you typed.
  • Reduce Spelling errors Google has a Did you meanfeature, which shows corrections if you misspelt a word, using Google Suggest you can correct those misspelt words even before you run the search query.
  • Saves Keystrokes Google suggest also reduces the keystrokes you will use to search, since it will start suggestion based on the first few characters, which most of the time should match your search requirement.

Google has already graduated this feature out of the labs and it should be available to all the users in the next few days.
