google notebook

remember those days when you were in school and used to copy / write notes from textbooks on to your notebooks, or for that matter from the blackboard to your notebooks. here is another service released by google which will take you back to the good old notebooks.

google notebook is finally avialable in google labs. google notebook was announced in google press day along with google desktop search 4, google trends and google co-op.

google notebook allows you to save text from various web pages in the notebook, you can save all information using the google notebook extension / plugin for firefox / internet explorer.

you can also copy and save images from any webpage to your google notebook.

you can later on view all the saved text by signing into your google notebook account. your notebook can be made public so as to allow users to search the notebooks, you can create more than one notebooks in a account too.

the beauty of using the extension is that you do not have to open a new window to login to your account and a new window just pops up when you try to save something.

more information on how to use this extension is avialable here for firefox and internet explorer.

downloading this extension / plugin gives you access to the mini google notebook feature, which allows you to:

    * clip and collect information as you surf the web.
    * stay in your browser window.
    * organize your notes from the web page you're on.

google notebook is still in google labs stage and has not been released as a beta.

google notebook extenstion will work in windows and linux environments, it may not work with the mac os, you can use the google notebook extension on firefox 1.5+ and internet explorer 6.

overall i think this is a nice product and will save me the pain of opening and saving notepads everytime i want to copy text or for that matter a word file to copy images etc.
