Google debuts Presentation tool

Google today debuted their Presentation tool (speculated by me earlier here) to complete the Office suite for Google Docs and Spreadsheets. A first look at it and I must it is quite impressive, the user interface is great and creating a presentation is a breeze. You can check out the new presentation tool by logging into Google Docs and Spreadsheets.

Once you are logged the new menu sports a new link to create a presentation.

Clicking on the presentation will take you to the page where you can create presentation.

Now you can start adding slides to the presentation like you would do with normally. There are various features that allow you to Duplicate a current slide, insert a picture add new slides and more, the new slides can be added in different layouts which you can choose from.

I was impressed with the way you can add pictures and drag it around just like you are doing it on a desktop, really helps with placing the image at the right position.

What’s more you can also choose various themes that are available instead of the plain Jane look to spice up your presentation.

I was able to come up with a decent presentation in under 2 minutes and all on the web, which I can also collaborate with others using the share option or publish it to the web. Google Presentation definitely lives up to the hype surrounding it and will definitely make Google Apps a very powerful product with its addition. You can import you existing presentations too and edit it online.

Here is a link to a presentation I created, also check out this video which tours around the idea behind using Google Docs and Spreadsheets.

Do let me know your impressions about the new tool with your valuable comments.
