Google Atrocities and Plagiarism Train
By on October 21st, 2007

How many of you have your content plagiarized and have seen those sites running Google AdSense. It hurts isn’t it. It hurt me a lot when the site that plagiarized my content was sitting two positions above me in Google Search Results, it hurts more then when your hard work is stolen.

I have contacted Google team as well as Google AdSense team numerous amounts of time, getting a response that we will look into it all the times and that we cannot look into individual requests. It is high time a individual turns into a force and I want all your support to end this not just for me but for you all too.

I have number of times reported the site that uses my content without my permission using the Ads By Google link but what happens nothing at all.

Google is penalizing us for selling paid links, what about those people who make money out of Google from your hard earned work, is there a solution to that no? They go around penalizing people who want to earn money but not those who make money of your own hard work.

It has been almost more than 2 months since I have complained and the blog in question still exists with Google serving ads to it out which is rightly my content and to rub salt on it listing their content on top of me for something that I have written in search results.

Is Google flawless? No not at all I learnt it the hard way, they are not doing the right thing by allowing someone else to get away with such atrocities with two of their services one is Google AdSense and second is Google Search.

Google Search penalizes you for having duplicate content but not those sites that copy your content, so you have to be aware of not duplicating your content but plagiarizing can go for a toss.

How many of you face this problem and how many has Google rectified till now, will you drop your paid links when Google itself is paying for content that is being stolen from your site?

If you want to join the voice write an article about it exposing the sites that steal your content and still run Google AdSense and make money out of your content and still Google penalizes you for selling links. The train does not need to be tagged just expose those who are using your content Google be damned. Let the world know about who steals your content.

Please do join the train this is not a ride against Google this is a ride against plagiarism which we have to fight ourselves.

The sites that steal my content are (please do not link just state)

http://blog.vsiai.com/

http://laptop-reviews.review-experts.info/

http://cell-phone.dailygeektoy.com/

http://www.gadgetgadget.info/

List the links of the site who copy your content and show them to the world, this is one way we can expose these sites there is no way we can keep quite and there is no way this will stop but expose these URL’s to the world tag you posts as plagiarizing websites, help all of us fight this every time someone copies you do not complain just continue the train. No one is going to help us we have to help ourselves.

I just pray to all of you to be together in this campaign.

It really is destructive – and I’ll write about it. Maybe you’ll link up?

One more thing, I actually found similar problems with blog.visai.com, so they’re scraping more than just your blog.

nirmal faced a similar problem….The first link has even this for your posts…

He doesn’t enable comments, there is no about link…a real thief…

The second one seem to be linking to the original and redirects to your sites….that i guess is atleast ok…

third and fourth links are down when i write this…

    • keith

Yups I had read this on Nirmal’s site.

    Hi Keith,

I can empathize with you because I have also gone through the same and still going through and the sites you have mentioned also steal content from my site. The most irritating aspect was that the post title is the same. But still I am ok with these site because they are atleast using some portion of the post and linking back to our original post. I however remove these spam trackbacks.

But the disgusting part comes when some go to the length of copying the entire post and posting as is on their site. I have put my ideas to make these site understand this illegal nature in my article long ago.

But I guess, it takes a lot more to banish these site from being online.

    • keith

Yes I do agree Nitin, I too remove the spam trackbacks. Its not about sending back the users to your site atleast they should have the decency to email us and ask our permission first.

  • http://techtracer.com/ nitinpai

hey even this post exists in visai. Its too cheap.

  • http://www.nirmaltv.com Nirmal

I too faced the same problem, he was using the feeds to do an automatic posting. Still dont know what they earn doing so. :-(
Contacting Google is time wasting, they will ask you hell lot of questions and which may get us in trouble.

    • keith

yups I agree its wasting time contacting Google, but I dont think that it would get us into trouble because we are the people who are getting punished here.

  • http://webtalks.blogspot.com Ashwini

I’m with you…Google should give some importance to us also…
    I’ll better blog it down…

    • keith

      Thanks Ashwini. I appreciate.

  • http://www.lytebyte.com Joel

I lost track of all the ones which copy the contents of mine…this one is the recent one http://blog.wpbloghost.net…This one has targeted lots of sites I know…

    • keith

There may be tons of such sites Joel it’s hard to track but atleast we can tell the people that these are the sites that use stolen content.

This is a tough issue to deal with. I just started a blog recently about web development and it wasn’t more than week when I noticed someone was scraping my content. At least they referenced me with a link, I guess a type of “thanks for letting reuse your content without permission”. The problem I have is I’m now nervous as to whether Google could penalize my blog for being web scraped. That perhaps they mistaken this guy’s blog for a doorway website, as in something I’m using to artificially inflate our numbers. I also noticed that we were recently dropped from certain pertinent keywords by AOL/MSN Live search recently and I’m wondering if this is related.

This has been a problem for a while regarding these search engines. It’s really hard to identify who’s legit and who’s being scraped, from who’s scraping themselves, or offering RSS feeds for the taking for the link backs.

It’s a HUGE problem that I don’t see Google doing anything about and it has to make you wonder how long until enough folks are screwed by this mess before it hits the news.

Let’s face, identifying who’s who is damn near impossible, so why would Google waste time fielding thousands of calls/complaints from small time bloggers and websites? They only care about the big guys, and those are easy to identify by now.

I’m gong to continue my writing, but I fear that the “good times” are coming to end in regards to self-publishing. Social Networking is too hot to ignore and blogging is going to be trumped by video blogging if it hasn’t already.

Not a fun situation to deal with at all.

    Ernesto Gluecksmann

    • keith

I totally agree with you Ernesto, the fact is that we are small time bloggers and no one will really be concerned about it. Maybe being an A lister would help
