Gmail marks Google Alerts Mail as spam

The spam filters of Gmail is one of the best of all the email providers and beats Yahoo and Hotmail outright but I do have to sometimes check my Spam folder for legitimate emails being filtered as Spam and have at times retrieved some emails from friends in the Spam folder.
Today while I was doing a routine check I came across a Google Alerts [1] mail landing up in the spam folder.
This is probably the first time I have ever seen a company marking their own service emails as spam.
Out of curiosity I opened the email to check why it had been marked as spam. On opening the email I saw some words marked as red which may have forced Google to mark the email as spam.
I would not be surprised now why Gmail has the best spam filtering in the webmail industry. Thanks to Gmail I really don’t have to go through all the spam in the inbox. How often do you check your Spam mails? Do let me know through your comments.
