Get your Orkut Scraps as RSS feeds
By on May 20th, 2007

Orkut the popular social Networking site from Google Stable is widely used by many users from India and Brazil. Orkut is quite popular for scrapping which means leaving short messages on your friends profiles.

To read the scraps you have to login to you Orkut account every time, I usually spend around 15 minutes a day sending and reading my Orkut scraps. But wonder of wonder here is another time saver which not only helps me read my scraps but also allows me to use my favorite Feed reader to do that.

How you can do that?

NgCoders has released a new PHP script which allows you to get your scraps as feeds. You need to add a URL to your feed reader to make use of this feature. The URL is as shown below.

http://www.indian-tv.com/orkut.php?uid={uid}

In the above URL just replace {uid} with you own Orkut user id. To get your user ID simply login into Orkut and click on the link to go to your Scrap Book.

In the location bar of your browser you will see a url like this http://www.orkut.com/Scrapbook.aspx?uid=17*****************

Just copy the number after = and use it in place of {uid} in the url above, voila you will see all your scraps in your feed reader and you did not even have to login to your Orkut account.

It’s defnitely a time saver and I recommend it.

    Cool! The common junta(even the highly educated ones) do not know about RSS and stuff. I guess this is the right opportunity to educate them on what RSS are and how they can come of use…

    Why don’t your blog have too many comments? I face this problem too. Can’t we do something about it?

    Hi Manaas,

    Glad it helped you, it is much better than going to the website over and over again to check for new scraps.
