What Do People Share Most On Facebook?

Facebook is slowly turning into the largest Internet industry with its massive base of users. Its unruly nature has led Facebook to take some heat from users as well. Be it allowing a page hurting religious sentiments or be it privacy concerns. Facebook has lost massive number of users on multiple occasions. However, things have never looked bad for Facebook. After all, it is one of the largest countries in the world.

Facebook is on a one way road to fame and if you can leech on to it, you will definitely reap the benefits. With this ideology or possibly unaware of this, the porn industry is making it big through Facebook. As proof of this fact, you can see this report that accuses Facebook of linking to illicit content. Google dominates the stats, with Google .com and Google France taking first and third places respectively. Facebook is the second largest referrer. In one case, Facebook sends as high as 0.8 million visitors per month to one of the websites.

Facebook has risen through the ranks to become the third most visited website beating Yahoo. Being the largest social network and with all those growth stats, it would be a shame if any other social network took away this title. Now, it would be really interesting to know what fraction of the total links shared on Facebook accounts for the illicit content.
