Google has released a new software called Google Gears which allows you to take online applications offline. It was a much needed feature for Google Reader which was primarily just used to read feeds online.
But with the help of Google Gears you can destroy that barrier too and take Google Reader offline and read your favorite feeds when you are on the go and do not have a Internet of Wi-Fi connection available.
After you install Google Gears and go to your Google Reader you will see a green icon on the top of the page which will allow you to download 2000 of your latest unread feeds offline.
Once the feed items have been downloaded you can continue reading the feeds in a offline mode. You can revert back and go back to online mode by clicking on the icon again.
Google Gears also has a official blog from where you can catch up with the latest news and updates to the product.
Now that’s what I love about Google. They always come with such nifty applications that makes so many things easier and I believe this is one of the many more to come out.
