Update: This plugin apparently does not work well when the webuser and ftp users are different. I have overcome those problems and working on testing the latest version which works fine on all systems including the above ones. I finally managed to put aside some time and give a much needed update to Better Comments Manager. I am releasing the version 1.3 of Better Comments Manager today.

It feels great to know that the plugin has been downloaded times in over a month. I am also happy to announce that this plugin is now official a part of the wordpress extend where you can download all the plugins recommended by Wordpress.

Top Commentators plugin highlights the commentators who comment frequently on your blog. It has been a great plugin to reward regular commentators since wordpress started adding nofollow to commentators website url in regular comments to thwart spammers. Adding nofollow to links tells search engines that they should not be follow it as a part of a link from the current site. Techie Buzz does follow all your comments with a DoFollow plugin.

Coming back even though top commentators plugin allows you to reward regular commentators there are many a sites that I have come across that have the owner of the site featuring in the top commentators section.

I am a command line junkie as it helps me stay productive and move around faster than using a mouse. I try and use the keyboard quite often and familiarize myself with shortcuts that help me save time doing things. Since I began using Linux around 6 years ago I have always tried and made use of its rich set up commands.

This post is about how you can use Linux commands to easily install and update plugins without making use of a visual uploading software like Filezilla or WinSCP.

Weblog Tools Collection is conducting its second plugin contest for wordpress plugins. I have created a plugin earlier called Better Comments Manager which allows you to reply to comments without having to visit the post and also allows you to sort all comments by post.

Many of you may already know by now that Wordpress 2.2 codename “Getz” has been released and many of you may also have upgraded already. Wordpress 2.2 adds a new feature called Wordpress Widgets that allows you to add widgets to your sidebar.

Gary King has written a great article at Blog Herald to enable sidebar widgets for your theme. So if you have still not widgetized your theme, I recommend you read the post.
