Yesterday, we posted that, Vodafone India will soon launch the Vodafone Blue Facebook phone in India. Now, the company has finally launched this amazing handset, exclusively for the Vodafone subscribers in India. The Vodafone Blue is originally called as the Vodafone 555 Blue in the UK and other European countries. This handset comes with the unique Facebook button, similar to the popular HTC ChaCha smartphone.

Speaking at the launch, Mr. Kumar Ramanathan, Chief Marketing Officer, Vodafone Essar said,

Vodafone Blue allows you to easily share and stay connected with your friends anytime, anywhere. The F (Facebook) button on the Vodafone Blue handset lets the user upload pictures, visit profiles and update status at a single click. You can also customize the Facebook ‘F’ button and assign a number of tasks, including instantly posting a status update with photos from the gallery or with links from the browser.

Do you still remember the entry-level QWERTY phone, which was announced by Vodafone during the end of July? Yes, we are talking about the Vodafone 555 Blue phone, which comes with the Facebook button, similar to the HTC ChaCha smartphone. This handset comes with a price tag of £60 in Europe. It is expected to be available in India for less than Rs.5,000. We cannot expect GPS, Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity options in this low-cost phone. But, this phone allows you to easily browse the web, thanks to the pre-loaded Opera Mini browser.

Samsung recently launched the new Galaxy Tab 730 at an event in New Delhi, India. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 730 is basically the same Galaxy Tab 8.9, which was announced at the CTIA 2011. This tablet runs on the Android 3.1 (Honeycomb) Operating System. It comes with a 10.1 inch WXGA display, 1 GHz dual core processor, 3 megapixel rear camera and more.

Samsung will only sell the 16 GB WiFi + 3G variant of the Galaxy Tab 730 in the Indian market. Sadly, the Wi-Fi only variant of this tablet will not be available in India. Vodafone 3G subscribers will get special data package with this tablet. Check out the complete specs below.

Vodafone offers 2 GB of monthly data for 6 months at just Rs.3000 exclusively for Samsung Galaxy Tab 730 owners.

After waiting for almost a year, Vodafone finally launched its 3G services earlier this year in India. Tata Docomo was the first operator to launch its 3G services in India, followed by Aircel, Reliance, Idea and Airtel. Last week, Vodafone launched its 3G services in Uttar Pradesh. And now, Vodafone went ahead and launched its 3G services in Kolkata circle.

Speaking on the occasion, Sridhar Rao, Chief Executive Officer, Vodafone Essar East Limited said, We expect a strong uptake and high demand for these 3G Services and we welcome all our subscribers to faster, smarter, better world of Vodafone 3G.

Vodafone offers video calling, high definition gaming and fast internet to their subscribers, along with exclusive access to retransmission of live IPL matches and streaming of entertainment and other content on their smartphones. Vodafone Mobile Internet plans is available at a minimum price of Rs 100 for postpaid and Rs.103 for prepaid subscribers, which offers 100 MB of free data usage. On the other hand, the Mobile Broadband plans is available at a minimum price of Rs.650 for 1 GB of free data usage.

Vodafone also offers local and STD video calling at Rs.3/min. Customers can also enjoy live TV with a subscription pack at Rs 150 monthly or Rs 7 daily.

Vodafone finally launched their 3G services in India. The Vodafone 3G will be first available for customers in the Uttar Pradesh circle. Tata Docomo and Reliance Communication already launched 3G last year. Later, Aircel and Airtel joined the bandwagon and launched their 3G earlier this year. Vodafone 3G services will be first launched in the cities of Lucknow and Kanpur in the first phase, followed by Allahabad and Varanasi in the next month and later it will be available in remaining towns of the Uttar Pradesh circle.

“Vodafone is the largest operator in UP (E) with about 13 million subscribers. The company is offering its subscribers free 3G services till April 10 and the 3G tariff and packages for it would be announced later. We have the largest EDGE enabled cell sites in the circle numbering 8,200 and we only need to put 3G antennae and some additional gadgets for 3G. The Vodafone 3G services will give its customers a faster, smarter and better mobile experience with internet access at speeds up to 21.1 Mbps,said Ravi Santhanam,  Vodafone East UP chief operations officer.

Vodafone Essar, today announced the launch of a new service for all its customers in Mumbai which allows them to purchase a new Vodafone prepaid or postpaid connection from the comfort of their home through Vodafone eShop. In just seven easy steps, customers can now get new Vodafone prepaid or postpaid connection delivered at their doorsteps.

2. Choose Mumbai as your circle
3. Go to eShop on the home screen
4. Click on the New Prepaid/Postpaid Connection Option on the eShop home screen
5. Choose from one of the various Vodafone lucrative per second or per minute tariff plans
6. Customers will be directed to a page where they can choose their favorite number from among an exhaustive list of prepaid/postpaid connection numbers
7. Customers can proceed to pay online via Credit/Debit card

Customers can even select the tariff plan that suits your needs. The prepaid connection card will be delivered to the customer with in 24 hours of purchasing it from Vodafone eShop. A duly filled application form will be collected from the customer along with the necessary address & identity proof. The connection will be activated post acceptance of the relevant documents. This service is currently available only for customers in Mumbai circle.

We have recently seen that, Tata Docomo became the first private telecom operator to announce the launch of its 3G services in India. Within few hours, Airtel unofficially announced their 3G services and their 3G page went live. Tata Docomo will launch its 3G services in Diwali and other operators like Vodafone and Airtel are expected to launch their 3G services at the same time.
