Last month, Samsung unveiled the first two devices under the new Galaxy Mega family of smartphones. As the name suggest, these smartphones comes with an oversized touchscreen display. It is also the company’s second device which runs on the latest Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) Operating System. Vodafone India Launches New International Roaming Pack For Rs.2499

If you are a frequent international traveller, then I’m sure your mobile phone bill burns a hole in your pocket. Last year, Vodafone India launched an International Roaming Pack for just Rs.1499 that offered 60% discount on international roaming on voice, data and SMS. This packs was quite popular among Vodafone users who travelled abroad.

Today, Vodafone launched a new International Roaming Pack which offers over 90% discount on data and approximately 64% on outgoing local and international calls. This pack will be extremely beneficial for people travelling overseas during this vacation season. Vodafone India is offering the new international roaming pack for a rental of just Rs.2499. This pack comes with a validity of just 30 days.

The benefits mentioned above are offered across 45 countries including UK, USA, UAE, Singapore and Thailand in partnership with select network operator in each country. You will be charged at standard international roaming charges, if you are connected to any other international operator’s network in these countries. You should also note that it is a non-recurring packs, which basically means that the operator will not auto-renew this pack after 30 days of usage.

Vodafone And Big Cinemas Announces ‘Birthday Surprise’ For Vodafone Customers

Last year, Vodafone launched the Vodafone Delights for its prepaid and postpaid subscribers in India. Vodafone Delights offers deals, special discount, birthday surprise and happy hours to its customers. Today, the wireless carrier joined hands with Big Cinemas and announced the new Birthday Surpise initiative to make its customers feel special.

Previously, the company offered birthday gift in form of telecom offerings, just by visiting any Vodafone Store on your birthday. However, the new initiative will let you watch any of the latest movie for free at select Big Cinemas across India. You heard it right! Just visit the Big Cinemas multiplex on your birthday and get a free ticket to watch the movie as well as a greeting card by Vodafone.

Additionally, select BIG Cinemas in Mumbai and Ahmedabad, will present the Vodafone birthday customer with a birthday cake. Apart from that, Vodafone will put up a slide on the screen with the customer’s name, while playing the birthday jingle in the background during the intermission.

Vodafone Launches Special International Roaming Pack In India

Vodafone recently launched a special international roaming pack that will make international roaming affordable for post-paid subscribers in India. The international roaming pack offers 60% discount rate for voice, data and text messages in more than 40 countries on specific partner networks across the globe. The new international roaming pack is available for Rs.1,499 with a validity of 30 days. After the validity period, Vodafone subscribers will have to re-activate the pack. To activate the pack, just send a text to 111 with the keyword “ACT VROAM”. You can activate this pack even after arriving at your international destination. This pack offers unlimited usage and it will be available only till September 30, 2012.

To get the network name and its handset display name, you will need to send a simple text to 111 with the keyword “PACK country name”. Within seconds, you will receive the the network name and the handset display name. After arriving at you destination, you will need to select the applicable network manually. Vodafone Launches New Affordable 3G Tariff Plans In India

Last month, Idea Cellular and Airtel reduced the price of their exciting 3G plans. Now, Vodafone has finally joined the bandwagon. The company has already reduced the price of its 3G plans for postpaid users. However, the Vodafone pre-paid users had to pay a huge amount to access their 3G services. Following the price drop by Idea and Airtel in India, Vodafone went ahead and reduced the 3G tariff plans by up to 80%. You heard it right! Vodafone recently announced new 3G plans which are applicable for both pre-paid and post-paid subscribers across India.

The new data plans start from Rs.25 for 25 MB data usage and go up to Rs.1599 for 12 GB of data usage. For any usage beyond the mentioned data usage on each plan, the customers will be charged at the rate of 2p/10kb. Alternately, Vodafone users can subscribe the Pay As You Go (PAYG) plan which allows them to browse the web or download their favorite songs at just 2p/10kb. Vodafone now allow its customers to use data from their bundle package while on-net roaming across any location in India without any additional charge.

Vodafone Rolls Out New 3G Plans For Its Postpaid Users

Over the last one month or so, nearly all the major 3G operators in India slashed their 3G rates by a good margin. Vodafone had also slashed its 3G tariff rates but only for its prepaid customers.

However, beginning today, Vodafone has rolled out new 3G postpaid plans along with increasing the free data usage for its existing plans. The new 3G tariff rates are pretty well priced, and will definitely help in increasing the 3G adoption rate in India.

Below are the new 3G plans from Vodafone India for its postpaid customers -:

  • Rs 375 – 1.5GB free data usage
  • Rs 650 – 3GB of free data usage
  • Rs 750 – 4GB of free data usage
  • Rs 850 – 5GB of free data usage
  • Rs 1250 – 8GB of free data usage
Post the ‘free’ data usage, users will be charged at 2p/10KB.  These new postpaid plans come into effective immediately in most regions of India. Please keep in mind that these plans might not be available in all regions of India, so please confirm them from Vodafone customer care.

Vodafone 555 Blue Facebook Phone Arriving Tomorrow In India

Do you still remember the entry-level QWERTY phone, which was announced by Vodafone during the end of July? Yes, we are talking about the Vodafone 555 Blue phone, which comes with the Facebook button, similar to the HTC ChaCha smartphone. Vodafone 555 Blue is an entry-level phone, which comes with a 2.4 inch QVGA display, 200 MHz processor, QWERTY keypad and much more.

This handset is already available from July in the UK, but the wait is finally over for the customers in India. Vodafone India will finally launch the Vodafone 555 Blue Facebook phone tomorrow in India. Samsung Galaxy Tab 730 Launched In India For Rs.33,900

Samsung recently launched the new Galaxy Tab 730 at an event in New Delhi, India. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 730 is basically the same Galaxy Tab 8.9, which was announced at the CTIA 2011. This tablet runs on the Android 3.1 (Honeycomb) Operating System. It comes with a 10.1 inch WXGA display, 1 GHz dual core processor, 3 megapixel rear camera and more.

Vodafone Launches 3G Services In Kolkata

After waiting for almost a year, Vodafone finally launched its 3G services earlier this year in India. Tata Docomo was the first operator to launch its 3G services in India, followed by Aircel, Reliance, Idea and Airtel. Last week, Vodafone launched its 3G services in Uttar Pradesh. And now, Vodafone went ahead and launched its 3G services in Kolkata circle.

Speaking on the occasion, Sridhar Rao, Chief Executive Officer, Vodafone Essar East Limited said, We expect a strong uptake and high demand for these 3G Services and we welcome all our subscribers to faster, smarter, better world of Vodafone 3G.

Vodafone had grabbed 3G license for 9 circles Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai & Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra & Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh (East) and West Bengal. Vodafone is expected to launch 3G services in the remaining circles, by the end of this month.

Vodafone offers video calling, high definition gaming and fast internet to their subscribers, along with exclusive access to retransmission of live IPL matches and streaming of entertainment and other content on their smartphones. Vodafone Mobile Internet plans is available at a minimum price of Rs 100 for postpaid and Rs.103 for prepaid subscribers, which offers 100 MB of free data usage. On the other hand, the Mobile Broadband plans is available at a minimum price of Rs.650 for 1 GB of free data usage.

Vodafone also offers local and STD video calling at Rs.3/min. Customers can also enjoy live TV with a subscription pack at Rs 150 monthly or Rs 7 daily.

Vodafone Launches 3G Services In Uttar Pradesh

Vodafone finally launched their 3G services in India. The Vodafone 3G will be first available for customers in the Uttar Pradesh circle. Tata Docomo and Reliance Communication already launched 3G last year. Later, Aircel and Airtel joined the bandwagon and launched their 3G earlier this year. Vodafone 3G services will be first launched in the cities of Lucknow and Kanpur in the first phase, followed by Allahabad and Varanasi in the next month and later it will be available in remaining towns of the Uttar Pradesh circle.

“Vodafone is the largest operator in UP (E) with about 13 million subscribers. The company is offering its subscribers free 3G services till April 10 and the 3G tariff and packages for it would be announced later. We have the largest EDGE enabled cell sites in the circle numbering 8,200 and we only need to put 3G antennae and some additional gadgets for 3G. The Vodafone 3G services will give its customers a faster, smarter and better mobile experience with internet access at speeds up to 21.1 Mbps,said Ravi Santhanam,  Vodafone East UP chief operations officer.

Vodafone had grabbed 3G license for 9 circles Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai & Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra & Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh (East) and West Bengal. Vodafone will roll-out 3G Mobile and Data services in a phased manner by the end of March.

We have a 3G-ready network, currently in optimisation which we will be launching very quickly. Our approach is to give our customers a world class experience, we will launch 3G service a city-wise basis and not pan-India or circle-wise.   6. Customers will be directed to a page where they can choose their favorite number from among an exhaustive list of prepaid/postpaid connection numbers
  7. Customers can proceed to pay online via Credit/Debit card

Customers can even select the tariff plan that suits your needs. The prepaid connection card will be delivered to the customer with in 24 hours of purchasing it from Vodafone eShop.
