Videocon to offer Free local calls in Tamilnadu

Videocon Mobile Service has announced free local calls for the Tamil Nadu Telecom circle. However, you need to recharge with Rs 99 to get it activated. This will allow you to make free local calls of 18 minutes from Videocon to Videocon and 15 minutes from Videocon to other networks. 18 and 15 minutes of free talk time are provided on a daily basis and the talktime will not be added to the next day’s value. You will lose talktime if you do not complete its daily quota of free calls.

Videocon also launched its GPRS/WAP services in TamilNadu dubbed as V-live and V-Internet. All the Videocon subscribers will receive GPRS Settings automatically to access the Internet. Browsing is free on V-live page and browsing to any other page is chargeable at 10p/10Kb.

If you are not from TamilNadu, do not worry as Videocon will soon cover your region. Videocon is all set to expand its services in next two months covering cities across Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Prasad and Maharashtra.

After successfully launching GSM Services in Tamil Nadu, Videocon Mobile Services announces the launch of three more First Recharge Options (FRC) priced Rs 61, Rs149 and Rs399 apart from Special Tariff Vouchers (STV) of denominations Rs 28, Rs 148 and Rs 395.
• FRC Rs61 will provide Local and STD at just 1p/sec for a period of 365 days with Rs 61 as Talk-time
• FRC Rs149 will provide 30 min of Local Off-net +30 min of Local On-net calling per day with no talk-time and the tariff validity is 30 days
• FRC Rs399 will provide Unlimited Local Usage and tariff validity will be for 30 days.
• STV Rs28 provides Local and STD at just 1p/sec for a period of 365 days with Rs 25 as Talk-time.
To enjoy the lifetime benefit customer has to do recharge of at least Rs.200 in every six months.

Videocon Gets Into Mobile Services – Promises Transparent Tarrifs

Videocon-Telecom-Mobile-Services-Provider The Indian mobile segment is growing at a phenomenal pace and Videocon – an international conglomerate based in India, wants a piece of it. It has announced that it will be joining an already crowded mobile services market under the banner of Videocon Telecom.

In spite of explosive growth of the mobile services segment, achieving profitability has become a daunting task for new comers due to the cutthroat competition. Videocon is obviously aware of the challenges it will be facing. Nevertheless, Videocon Group Chairman Venugopal N. Dhoot is confident that the company will break-even within two years.

Videocon will be investing Rs 14,000 crore over the next three years to build up its 2.75G EDGE GSM network. After its initial launch in Tamil Nadu, Videocon Telecom will rapidly expand over the next hundred days to cover hundred key cities across Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Prasad, Maharashtra and Mumbai.

According to Mr Dhoot, Videocon Telecom will offer an unprecedented sub-one-paisa effective tariff. Videocon Telecom wants to suit all pockets with tariff plans that are transparent and simple.

Increased competition is usually better for the consumer. The Indian mobile services market is not an easy one to getting into. However, if anyone can do it, Videocon can.
