Pre-Order Verizon iPhone 4 From Feb 3rd, Buy From Feb 10th

Verizon has confirmed that the will be coming to the Verizon network next month. The 16GB Verizon model will cost $199 and the 32GB model will cost $299.

iPhone 4

According to earlier rumors the iPhone 4 data plans will be $29.99 and Verizon will also provide mobile hotspot for the phone wherein you can connect up to 5 different devices to make use of your phone’s data plan.

However, if you are an AT&T user, you will have to break your existing contract and then sign a new 2 year contract with Verizon. Also, the AT&T iPhone 4 will not work on Verizon since it is a CDMA network.

Considering how fast Verizon LTE network is, this should see a huge shift of customers from AT&T to Verizon. The Verizon iPhone page is already up and can be visited here, but pre-orders won’t open up till February 3, 2010 for new customers. Existing Verizon customers can also get an iPhone 4 from reserved quantity before anyone else. Sign up link for the same is present in the above URL.

Verizon Confirms iPhone 4, $199 for 16GB, $299 for 32GB, Mobile Hotspot Included, Pre-Orders February 3rd

Check here on how to catch up with live updates from the Verizon iPhone conference.

At today’s Verizon conference, the Verizon CEO has confirmed that will be headed to the Verizon network. The new iPhone 4 will support the CDMA technology that Verizon has.

iPhone 4

The iPhone 4 will be launched on Verizon next month, whereas the iPad had made its debut on their network late last year. This is definitely good news for users who have been waiting for Verizon to launch the iPhone.

"We’re incredibly pleased to give Verizon’s customers the choice we’ve been waiting for. We’ve designed an iPhone 4 which connects to the CDMA network — and it has all the features that you’d expect. Like FaceTime. Features like Apple’s stunning Retina Display."

The new iPhone 4 has been designed specifically for the CDMA network and was in test for more than a year. This should open up iPhone access for CDMA vendors across the world, so you will see more networks being added by Apple in near future.

Verizon iPhone users will most likely benefit from the Verizon LTE network and see higher speeds. There goes millions of AT&T customers.

The price of 16GB iPhone 4 on Verizon will be $199 and 32 GB iPhone 4 will be $299. Verizon will also support mobile hotspots out of the box where you can connect up to 5 devices and access the internet.

The Verizon iPhone 4 will be up for pre-order on February 3, 2010. Sales of iPhone 4 will start on February 10, 2010 at online stores for Verizon and in Verizon or Apple stores.

More updates coming shortly.

Catch Up With The Verizon iPhone Event Live Online

Verizon will be announcing that they will be carrying the today. This is after almost 4 years of exclusivity for AT&T. The event is highly anticipated and will see a lot of people making a switch to Verizon if they announce the 4 in their lineup.

The event is going to happen in next few minutes and you will be able to catch up on the action at some of the live blogs attending the event.

To catch up on live action from the Verizon event, use the links given below. Videos and audio updates will be added shortly.

More updates and videos coming soon.

Verizon to Offer Unlimited Data Plans with iPhone 4

Both Reuters and the WSJ have confirmed that Verizon will offer its existing unlimited data plans with the iPhone 4 as well. This means that if you have a CDMA iPhone 4 on Verizon’s network, you can get an unlimited data plan for $29.99.

In contrast, AT&T offers a $25 data plan which is capped at 2 GB data usage per month with an additional charge of $10 per GB. The voice plans are nearly identical for both carriers.

For data hungry geeks, this means that the Verizon iPhone 4 will be a much better option than the AT&T iPhone 4.

One point of concern is that the iPhone 4 doesn’t support LTE, so users will have to use the slower CDMA technology.

AT&T’s Larry Solomon has already attacked Verizon on this – “The iPhone is built for speed, but that’s not what you get with a CDMA phone. I’m not sure iPhone users are ready for life in the slow lane.”

We will know more details about the Verizon iPhone 4 at tomorrow’s special event.

Verizon iPhone Coming on January 11

Verizon iPhone According to a report by the Wall Street Journal, Verizon is planning to announce the much anticipated CDMA iPhone on January 11, at a press event which was announced recently.

With Verizon announcing its entire Android and LTE device lineup at CES, the only announcement which could warrant a separate event is the iPhone coming to Verizon.

The iPhone has been available exclusively on AT&T in the US since its launch in 2007. Many think that the number of smartphone users willing to buy an iPhone on AT&T has peaked, and to see further growth in user numbers, Verizon is Apple’s best bet. Many users have chosen Android phones over the iPhone only to avoid using AT&T’s network. Getting the iPhone on Verizon could see a lot of them jumping on to the iPhone bandwagon.

The Verizon iPhone will likely be similar to the iPhone 4, but will be a CDMA handset. What we don’t know is whether it will support LTE as well. It’s likely that LTE support will come only with the iPhone 5 which is to be launched this summer.

Samsung SCH-i520 “4G LTE Smartphone” Showcased by Verizon

Samsung 4G LTE SmartphoneWord about a Samsung 4G LTE smartphone headed to Verizon had ¬† leaked out some time back, but until Verizon’s conference at CES, we didn’t know much about it.

Well, it was showcased at CES as just that – “Samsung 4G LTE smartphone”. Apparently, Samsung still ¬†hasn’t figured out what to name it, with all the awe-inspiring names like Infuse, Inspire, Revolution, Bionic, Thunderbolt etc already taken.

The specs of the Samsung 4G LTE smartphone seem quite impressive though. It has a 4.3 inch SuperAMOLED Plus display and an 8 MP camera. It is powered by a 1 GHz processor and comes with Android 2.2 Froyo. It offers LTE connectivity and will be rolled out with the LG Revolution and the HTC Thunderbolt.

HTC Thunderbolt Finally Gets Official; Features Integrated Skype Mobile

After numerous leaks, the HTC Thunderbolt has finally been unveiled by Verizon and HTC at the CES 2011. The HTC Thunderbolt features a mammoth 4.3-inch S-LCD screen with WVGA (800×480) resolution. The handset is powered by a 1GHz Qualacomm Snapdragon processor.

The back of the phone features an 8MP camera with 720p HD video recording capability. The phone also sports a front-facing camera for video calling. The handset also supports Verizon’s 4G LTE network.

HTC_Thunderbolt

Other key features of the HTC Thunderbolt include DLNA, Dolby Surround Sound, Built in kickstand, GPS with aGPS, a 3.5mm audio jack and a microSD card slot with a 32GB microSD card preloaded. The HTC Thunderbolt runs on Android 2.2 with the latest version of HTC Sense UI on top of it. HTC have also integrated Skye Mobile with video calling in their Sense UI on this phone.

Sadly, HTC did not mention the release date or pricing of the device. However, I expect the Thunderbolt to hit the shelves by Q1 of 2011.
