Verizon Galaxy Nexus Updated To Android 4.0.2

Verizon Wireless recently launched the much-awaited Galaxy Nexus smartphone, exclusively for its subscribers in the US. Samsung Galaxy Nexus is the first smartphone, which runs on the latest Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) Operating System. Within a few hours of its launch, Verizon rolled out a new software update for its Galaxy Nexus smartphone.

Device features:

  • Optimized Mobile Hotspot when used with VPN
  • Optimized 3G/4G data sessions for faster response times
  • Fixed an incorrect notification that data was disconnected due to roaming
  • WiFi now automatically reconnects when returning to a known Access Point
  • Improvements to special visual effects feature when using front-facing camcorder
  • Visual improvements to the lock screen

Email and Messaging:

  • Fixed an issue where some email attachments would not open correctly

Apps and Widgets:

  • DivX support has been removed and will be supported in a future upgrade
  • Improved audio volume in Google navigation turn-by-turn directions

The latest update bumps the Android version from 4.0 to 4.0.2. The size of the update is just 10.6 MB. The latest update can be easily downloaded via OTA (Over-The-Air). Verizon finally announced the availability of its much-awaited smartphone, the Verizon Galaxy Nexus. This handset is the third Nexus branded phone from Google and the second Nexus phone manufactured by Samsung. Galaxy Nexus is the first smartphone, which runs on the latest Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) Operating System. Verizon Galaxy Nexus features a 4.65 inch Super AMOLED display, sporting a resolution of 1280 × 720 pixels, 1.2 GHz dual-core application processor, Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) Operating System, 5 megapixel camera with zero-shutter lag, autofocus and LED flash, full HD (1080p) video recording and playback, 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera for video chat, etc.
