Tata Docomo To Launch 3G Services This Diwali

Tata Docomo, known for bringing many firsts in the Indian Telecom industry, will now also become the first private Telecom player to launch 3g cellular services in India – this diwali. Other operators like Vodafone and Reliance are likely to announce their respective 3G services launch date soon.

Mr Deepak Gulati (President of Mobility, Tata Teleservices Ltd) said, We are all set to launch 3G services on Diwali. With this customers will have access to high speed Internet access and rich multimedia content and applications. Our partners NTT DoCoMo are leaders in 3G services and we are leveraging their expertise to bring the best to our customers.

Tata Docomo has initial plans of launching their 3G service in all the top cities of the states where Tata Docomo has presence – Delhi, Mumbai, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Kolkata, Haryana, West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh (East). Tata Tele has also given the 3G equipment contract to Nokia Siemens and Chinese vendor Huawei.

Tata Docomo Unveils One Touch Net Phone

Tata Docomo recently announced their first handset, the Alcatel One Touch Net mobile phone, which integrates the Tata Docomo’s Dive-In mobile services and allows you to access them with a single touch of a button.

“The OneTouch Net is an affordable solution targeted at the digital youth who want to stay connected to the Internet and information services on their mobile phones. A suite of Yahoo!’s leading products are pre-loaded and directly integrated into the device-this phone has an ergonomic QWERTY keyboard and a special optical track-pad, and is designed for easy navigation, communication and Internet services,” Mr. Deepak Gulati, President of GSM and 3G at Tata Teleservices Limited, said.

Alcatel One Touch Net phone comes with a 2.4 inch display with 240×320 pixels resolution, full QWERTY keyboard, GPRS/EDGE Connectivity, 2 megapixel camera with Digital Zoom, MP3 Player, FM Radio, Stereo Bluetooth 2.0, microSD card slot, 80MB internal memory, 8GB expandable memory and more.

The OneTouch Net will also provide easy access to Tata Docomo services like My Song, Call Me Tunes, Buddy Chat, My Talkies, Astro Portal, Funzone, Song Book and much more through customized keys on the OneTouch Net handset.

Tata Docomo has launched yet another first in the Indian telecom industry – Web Based Live Chat. This new web based Live Chat help feature from Tata Docomo enables both existing new subscribers to submit their query for a new connection by giving their details. After this, Users get a chat window and a customer service executive becomes available on line to resolve the query or issue in real time.

This Live Chat service from TATA Docomo is available 24×7 and lets users share files during the chat session.the chat service is powered by Talisma Chat. However the chat is not supported in Google Chrome browser.

EAMCET 2010 Results Through SMS/Voice From Tata DOCOMO

The EAMCET will be declared shortly and the GSM brand of Tata Teleservices Limited has announced that its customers can avail the benefit of knowing EAMCET results on SMS and Voice portal.


Students who want to check the exam results for their Engineering Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) in the state of Andhra Pradesh will be able to check their results using 2 convenient ways.

Tata DOCOMO provides 2 convenient ways to get EAMCET results delivered personally! Using the IVR option, customers will have to dial 54321234 and provide students seven digit Roll Number. For this the subscribers will have to follow a Pre-registrationwherein customers can register their Roll Numbers by dialing 54321234 and they will be notified through SMS as soon as the results are announced. As a second option customers can also have a choice of getting the result by sending an SMS to 55352. Ex: SMS EAMCET <space> Hall Ticket Number to 55352.

Every SMS will be charged at Rs. 3 per SMS and the IVR service will be charged at 10 paise per second.

TATA DOCOMO extends its services in Gujrat with Awesome plans

Tata Docomo has launched its services in Vadodara, Ahmedabad and Jamnagar. Docomo`s services were launched in Gujarat couple of weeks back but left out these 3 cities due to non-release of spectrum. The price of the SIM card is Rs 49 and comes with lifetime validity.

The services offered by Docomo in these cities are as follows:-

2) STD Calls @ 2p/sec
3) Local SMS @ Re. 0.60
4) National SMS @Re. 1
5) International SMS @Rs. 5
