The Sony Ericsson Vivaz was a great phone with a decent hardware specification. What led to the failure of the phone was its operating system – the Symbian S60v5 OS which is not at all optimized for touch.

Sony Ericsson has just rolled out a new firmware update for their Symbian running multimedia oriented handset – the Vivaz. The Sony Ericsson Vivaz runs on the old and out-dated Symbian S60v5 OS and features a 3.2-inch resistive screen.

At the beginning of this month Sony Ericsson announced that the Xperia X10 will be available on AT&T from August 15. Today, AT&T have announced in a press release that they will also be selling the Sony Ericsson Vivaz beginning from September 5.

Leaked pictures of the upcoming Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Medium codenamed Shakira. Sony Ericsson Medium will have a size which fits between X10 and X10 mini.

Sony Ericsson starts the shipping of their QWERTY keypad equipped Symbian handset, Vivaz Pro. It will available in select markets worldwide for the time being.
