Yes, people actually brought the PlayBook! The new PlayBook OS update does not bring any major changes whatsoever, but there are some speed and performance improvements.</p><p>Below is the relatively short change-log of the PlayBook OS 2.0.1 as provided by <a href="http://blogs.blackberry.com/2012/04/playbook-os-2-0-1-update/" target="_blank">RIM</a> -:</p><blockquote><ul><li>Browser enhancements to address performance with some websites</li><li>Improvements to support Android apps</li><li>Optimizations to Video Chat, PIM and BlackBerry Bridge applications</li><li>And much more!</li></ul></blockquote><div>The last PlayBook OS update for the PlayBook brought with it quite a lot of new features and enhancements, including a much awaited and basic functionality - an inbuilt email client. Considering the PlayBook does not have a very large user base, it is good to see that RIM still supports the tablet.</div><div>The OTA update is already live, and users will be notified as soon as the update is available in their region. Alternatively, Playbook owners can also manually download and install the update by going to Settings-&gt; Software Updates and then selecting the &#8220;Check for Updates&#8221; option.</div> <img src="http://cache.techie-buzz.com/1337747932tyx41fvuqwiew0nw6de2scumbag13377479327ioskx3b340r6mvc7i3j1337747932.jpg" class="scumbags" /><div style="font-size:12px"> <strong>Share:</strong> <a href="http://techie-buzz.com/gadgets-news/blackberry-playbook-gets-updated-to-os-2-0-1.html#commentrespond" rel="bookmark" target="_blank">Comment on This Post</a> | <a href="http://twitter.com/home?source=techiebuzz&status=BlackBerry PlayBook Gets Updated To OS 2.0.1 http%3A%2F%2Fbit.ly%2FIlIPiN via @techiebuzzer" rel="bookmark" target="_blank">Tweet This</a> | <a href="http://www.facebook.com/sharer.php?u=http://techie-buzz.com/gadgets-news/blackberry-playbook-gets-updated-to-os-2-0-1.html" rel="bookmark" target="_blank">Share on Facebook</a> | <a href="http://del.icio.us/post?url=http://techie-buzz.com/gadgets-news/blackberry-playbook-gets-updated-to-os-2-0-1.html&title=BlackBerry PlayBook Gets Updated To OS 2.0.1" rel="bookmark" target="_blank">Save to Delicious</a> | <a href="http://www.stumbleupon.com/submit?url=http://techie-buzz.com/gadgets-news/blackberry-playbook-gets-updated-to-os-2-0-1.html" rel="bookmark" target="_blank">Stumble This</a> | <a href="http://digg.com/submit?phase=2&url=http://techie-buzz.com/gadgets-news/blackberry-playbook-gets-updated-to-os-2-0-1.html&title=BlackBerry PlayBook Gets Updated To OS 2.0.1" rel="bookmark" target="_blank">Digg This</a> | <a href="http://www.reddit.com/submit?url=http://techie-buzz.com/gadgets-news/blackberry-playbook-gets-updated-to-os-2-0-1.html&title=BlackBerry PlayBook Gets Updated To OS 2.0.1" rel="bookmark" target="_blank">Reddit This</a></div> <br /><div><strong style="font-size:11px;">TAGS:</strong> <span style="text-transform:uppercase;font-size:11px;"><a href="http://techie-buzz.com/tag/blackberry" rel="tag">Blackberry</a>, <a href="http://techie-buzz.com/tag/playbook-os" rel="tag">PlayBook OS</a>, <a href="http://techie-buzz.com/tag/rim" rel="tag">rim</a>, <a href="http://techie-buzz.com/tag/software-updates" rel="tag">Software Updates</a></span><br/> </small></div><div style="background:#E1E1E1; border: dotted 1px; padding:5px; margin-top:5px;font-size:11px"> <a href="http://techie-buzz.com/gadgets-news/blackberry-playbook-gets-updated-to-os-2-0-1.html" title="BlackBerry PlayBook Gets Updated To OS 2.0.1">BlackBerry PlayBook Gets Updated To OS 2.0.1</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://techie-buzz.com" title="Techie Buzz">Techie Buzz</a> written by Rajesh Pandey on Wednesday 18th April 2012 10:44:19 AM under <a href="http://techie-buzz.com/category/gadgets-news" title="View all posts in Gadgets News" rel="category tag">Gadgets News</a>. The new software update, carrying the version number 1.28, contains some bug-fixes as reported by One X owners over the last two weeks.</p><p><img class="aligncenter" src="http://cdn2.techie-buzz.com/images4/omkar/mobiles/htc_one_x/htc_one_x.jpg" alt="" width="563" height="433" /></p><p>This includes some graphical issues, better compatibility of the on-screen menu key and the new Google apps, and a slightly tweaked auto-brightness level. The update also fixes a bug, which will lead to a 10-20% increase in the battery life of the One X. For whatever it is worth, the update does <em>not</em> bump the Android version to 4.0.4.  Some users are also reporting an improvement in the network signal strength post the update.</p><p>The OTA update weighs in around 30MB, and is rolling out to only unlocked One X variants as you read this. Owners of the unlocked variant of the One X can also try and manually pull the update by going to Settings -&gt; About and then selecting the &#8216;Software Updates&#8217; option.</p><p>Via &#8211; <a href="http://www.androidcentral.com/software-update-128-now-rolling-out-euro-htc-one-x" target="_blank">Android Central</a></p> <img src="http://cache.techie-buzz.com/1337747932z3a7m4bvv2kvi9ym03ziscumbag1337747932qz4e32pdfa7gfoev2keb1337747932." class="scumbags" /><div style="font-size:12px"> <strong>Share:</strong> <a href="http://techie-buzz.com/mobile-news/htc-one-x-software-update-rolling-out.html#commentrespond" rel="bookmark" target="_blank">Comment on This Post</a> | <a href="http://twitter.com/home?source=techiebuzz&status=HTC One X Gets Its First Software Update; Reportedly Improves Battery Life http%3A%2F%2Fbit.ly%2FHSAeEs via @techiebuzzer" rel="bookmark" target="_blank">Tweet This</a> | <a href="http://www.facebook.com/sharer.php?u=http://techie-buzz.com/mobile-news/htc-one-x-software-update-rolling-out.html" rel="bookmark" target="_blank">Share on Facebook</a> | <a href="http://del.icio.us/post?url=http://techie-buzz.com/mobile-news/htc-one-x-software-update-rolling-out.html&title=HTC One X Gets Its First Software Update; Reportedly Improves Battery Life" rel="bookmark" target="_blank">Save to Delicious</a> | <a href="http://www.stumbleupon.com/submit?url=http://techie-buzz.com/mobile-news/htc-one-x-software-update-rolling-out.html" rel="bookmark" target="_blank">Stumble This</a> | <a href="http://digg.com/submit?phase=2&url=http://techie-buzz.com/mobile-news/htc-one-x-software-update-rolling-out.html&title=HTC One X Gets Its First Software Update; Reportedly Improves Battery Life" rel="bookmark" target="_blank">Digg This</a> | <a href="http://www.reddit.com/submit?url=http://techie-buzz.com/mobile-news/htc-one-x-software-update-rolling-out.html&title=HTC One X Gets Its First Software Update; Reportedly Improves Battery Life" rel="bookmark" target="_blank">Reddit This</a></div> <br /><div><strong style="font-size:11px;">TAGS:</strong> <span style="text-transform:uppercase;font-size:11px;"><a href="http://techie-buzz.com/tag/android-4-0" rel="tag">Android 4.0</a>, <a href="http://techie-buzz.com/tag/htc" rel="tag">HTC</a>, <a href="http://techie-buzz.com/tag/one-x" rel="tag">One X</a>, <a href="http://techie-buzz.com/tag/software-updates" rel="tag">Software Updates</a></span><br/> </small></div><div style="background:#E1E1E1; border: dotted 1px; padding:5px; margin-top:5px;font-size:11px"> <a href="http://techie-buzz.com/mobile-news/htc-one-x-software-update-rolling-out.html" title="HTC One X Gets Its First Software Update; Reportedly Improves Battery Life">HTC One X Gets Its First Software Update; Reportedly Improves Battery Life</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://techie-buzz.com" title="Techie Buzz">Techie Buzz</a> written by Rajesh Pandey on Wednesday 18th April 2012 10:21:20 AM under <a href="http://techie-buzz.com/category/mobile-news" title="View all posts in Mobile News" rel="category tag">Mobile News</a>.
