Another day, and Motorola continues to prove that it has gone insane. Last week, the company started rolling out a new software update for the Bionic which brought some bug fixes and performance improvements to the phone, instead of rolling out the Ice Cream Sandwich update for the device.

Today, the company has started rolling out a new update for the Droid RAZR and Droid RAZR MAXX. No, the software updates still don’t bring Ice Cream Sandwich to the handset, nearly 4.5 months after ICS code went AOSP!

Below is the full change-log of the software update v6.12.181 for the Droid RAZR and RAZR MAXX -:

RIM (Research In Motion) has started rolling out a new software update for its now forgotten tablet, the PlayBook. Yes, people actually brought the PlayBook! The new PlayBook OS update does not bring any major changes whatsoever, but there are some speed and performance improvements.

Below is the relatively short change-log of the PlayBook OS 2.0.1 as provided by RIM -:

• Browser enhancements to address performance with some websites
• Improvements to support Android apps
• Optimizations to Video Chat, PIM and BlackBerry Bridge applications

HTC has already started rolling out a new software update for its recently released flagship handset, the HTC One X. The new software update, carrying the version number 1.28, contains some bug-fixes as reported by One X owners over the last two weeks.

This includes some graphical issues, better compatibility of the on-screen menu key and the new Google apps, and a slightly tweaked auto-brightness level. The update also fixes a bug, which will lead to a 10-20% increase in the battery life of the One X. For whatever it is worth, the update does not bump the Android version to 4.0.4.  Some users are also reporting an improvement in the network signal strength post the update.

The OTA update weighs in around 30MB, and is rolling out to only unlocked One X variants as you read this. Owners of the unlocked variant of the One X can also try and manually pull the update by going to Settings -> About and then selecting the ‘Software Updates’ option.
